Called out of Darkness

The Father of All Creation lives within each of us and longs to unlock the unique expression of the fruit and fragrance of His creative glory in every bloodline and family tree.

Created as a Unique Blood Expression of the Father

Just as there are countless numbers of stars, moons, and planets in our observable universe, so are there countless creatives set in spheres of influence, orbits, and communities planted throughout the nations of the earth. Each one has a special creative blend of gifting, sensitivity, and insight that no other soul possesses.  It is their mandate to release light, life, and wonder into their community.
Each creative gift God has graciously imparted to us is never rescinded – he has placed gifts within each of us; our assignment is to steward these gifts through our allotted time here. These are actually everlasting gifts of love in our very DNA, that have traveled through our bloodlines since the foundation of the world.

Each creative gift God has graciously imparted to us is never rescinded – he has placed gifts within each of us for us to steward through our allotted time here.

It is the destiny of each family to release the fullness of the creative expression with which they have been entrusted, season after season. It is their assignment to bloom like a beautiful bouquet, releasing the fragrance, the fruit, and the sound of their creative family tree of glory with its myriads of expressions. By doing this, each family exhibits in fullness the glory of the Father of lights, who is the Giver of every good and perfect gift.

The Thief

Abundant life is the ability to live in the full expression of creative life – nothing missing, nothing lacking, nothing broken. John 10:10 tells us, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…” Steal what? The life, the light, and wonder, of creative expression. But the Creative Word says, “I have come that they may have a rich creative life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

In my experience, the thief comes to stand at the door of every creative – his solitary goal is to steal, kill, or destroy their very creativity.  He does this by deceiving us into agreeing with him and allowing him to possess it; deceiving us into using our gifts for his purposes is one of his greatest pleasures. He twists our purpose and turns the purpose of our giftings on their heads, using our creative gifts to power his kingdom.

I know this from experience: for almost fifteen years, the gift I had been given charge to steward was twisted backwards. I created erotic art and signed it as “Tibsen Semaj” – James Nesbit, backwards.

I had the same experience as the famed song writer John Newton, who penned the powerful lyrics: “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I’m found; was blind but now I see.”

Father knows each of us from the foundation of the world, and calls each of us from our mother’s womb. I believe the thief can recognize the light we carry also, and tries to steal, kill, or destroy it at every turn.

Out of the Darkness, Into the Light

One of the greatest things that I ever did in my darkness was give a picture of a devil to an intercessor’s son. She said, “We are not having this – his name is going into the cup!” They had a little coffee cup into which they put the names of people they were calling out of darkness and into light. Father heard their prayers, and pulled me out of twistedness and darkness, into the journey of the fullness of His original intent for me (though some think I’m still a little twisted at times).

One of the greatest things that I ever did in my darkness was give a picture of a devil to an intercessor’s son.

I burned the majority of the art that I created in those fifteen years, and took a large paint brush and painted over a 4’x8’ piece of filth. I then began painting large murals that reflected the beauty, the glory, and the promise of the Lord.

Obey the Promptings of the Lord

In 1986, I saw computer-generated art for the first time. I heard a whisper within me say, “I want you to learn how to do that,” not realizing that my destiny hinged on being obedient to that quiet prompt. Even though it took me six years to be obedient and purchase a computer, Father knew how long it would take for me to respond when He initially asked.

I live my life in thanksgiving that Father gave me grace to not let the fear of not knowing anything about computers steal my destiny! As I said earlier, fear will meet you at every point of creative release to keep you limited in your expression.

I have been honored by several leaders in the prophetic movement as one of the leading prophetic artists in the earth today – more about what a prophetic artist is will have to wait for a future conversation.

Scripture says, “How can two walk together unless they be agreed?” My prayer for you today is that if fear has tormented you and these words have brought that to light, this is your day of freedom! Simply speak to fear and tell it, “This is the last day that you and I walk together!”

Next, bless the Father of All Creation, and through the blood of His Son welcome His perfect love, which casts out all fear, into every room in your heart. Wherever fear had residence, Father can now fill, shape, and mold with His perfect love.

Present the creative gift (the one that He gave you to begin with) afresh and anew to Him; as you commit your way unto Him, He in His great goodness will establish your thoughts and order your steps into the fullness of the creative dream He has had for you from the foundation of the world.

Always remember, He is stable and consistent, if you are not, walk a little closer to Him.

Who and what He is, You were created to become.
